Hello Everyone, my name is Kirk, and I live in Ontario, Canada. Been playing guitar for about three years, and I am at a point where I would like to play guitar with others, but I have been finding it difficult to find beginner/intermediate guitar players in the local area. Going to do my best to be engaged with the community and all that it has to offer.
Thank you for taking the time and energy to read my post. I welcome any suggestions or directions from anyone who has started this journey and is feeling a bit alone in learning this amazing instrument. Thank you once again!
Hey Kirk, welcome to the community. I have only been playing almost 1 year. I have found that many guitarist like to share their tips, tricks, and knowledge with anyone wanting to learn the guitar. Take a leap of faith, I am sure you will be glad you did.
I donāt have any advice on meeting others⦠been learning pretty much solo but I do believe that engaging in this Community is a great way to connect with ālike-mindedā folks who are passionate about their guitar Journey!
Thereās a wealth of knowledge here⦠so many stories & moments of discovery that have been/are shared - itās inspiring!!!
Main thing is to keep the element of āFUNā in your daily playing & practicing⦠as long as youāre having a good time, youāll never give it up!!!
Good luck finding some jam buddies!!!
welcome to the community. Playing with others sure makes a difference. Iāve been involved in a club for well over 10 years. Our club is quite active on social media, fb in particular, and I find out about a lot of other jams through that.
Greetings, Kirk, from Southwestern Ontario.
Iām in a similar situation to you. Not sure what part of Ontario you are located, but maybe things could work out for us to meet irl.
And there are lots of people in the forums who are keen to collaborate online, with quite a bit of success (Check out Domi7 as an example).
Youāre bound to get a lot of response. The folks in this community are a friendly bunch and eager to help!
Iām pretty new to guitar and this forum but there is an open and active community of helpful people here. Itās been a great resource. Combined with Justinās lessons and apps itās been an amazing experience for me so far.

Just have a look around and start making friends, although weāre way more than āmanyā, it wonāt be difficult.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ācommunityā. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.
Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny.
Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.
