Hello - Introducing Linda!

Hello!
I’m Linda from Hertfordshire UK.
I have had a guitar since the 70’s but never got very good. I can strum all the usual chords but am determined now to get better and be able to play like my friends do.
I’m a folky and was also a sound healer so I am very touched by good music and I love the guitar. I just wish it sounded better from me.
I am on beginners grade 2.

Welcome to Justin’s community Linda. I am glad you found this site. Between this and justins lesson site you will have plenty to get your fix of new cool strumming songs and more advanced chords. I am sure you are excited. Have fun and it will sound better as you keep practicing.

Hello Linda & Welcome!!!
You’re in the right place to learn guitar!!! Follow Justin’s method & stay consistent in your practice regimen & you will be playing the music you love in no time!!!
This is the best time to learn an instrument, so many helpful things… from the technology in the gear of today to finding tabs or instruction on the internet… lots of help that wasn’t there when we got our first guitar! :guitar:
If you’re still playing your guitar from the 70s, it may be to your benefit to have it checked by a luthier or skilled guitar tech… the “playability” of older guitars often suffers with the passage of time. If the guitar has issues, it will be harder for you to play, so it’s a good idea to have it checked out!
Good luck in your Musical Journey!!!

Ha haaaa, no I have different guitars now. They have all been set up.
I have an Epiphone Masterbilt and an Epiphone Blues Master and an eye on something else I am waiting for the shop to get in. I have GAS even though I’m not a very good player.

Btw the only thing wrong with my first ever guitar is that the pick guard has lifted. I need to pass that guitar on really.

Hi Linda, welcome. Good you’re now determined to play better and have JustinGuitar courses to help you with that. I’m also somewhere around where you are at the courses. Keep having fun playing guitar.

Thank you everyone. I havent quite got the hang if this site yet so please forgive me not replying to everyone separately.
Its all a bit of a mystery atm x

Hello, Linda. I am Lynne, from the High Desert in California, USA. My guitar background is very similar to yours. I played and took private lessons in the early 70’s, still remember basic open chords, but I never got very good, and found the practice boring and frustrating. I picked up my guitar again just about a year or so ago, thinking that I should give it away, since I wasn’t good at it in the first place, and now I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and problems with my hands. But – I found Justin and everything is totally different. I can play, even with my funky hands. I am having such a great time, life is fun again, and my progress is breath-taking to me. I am taking the regular course simultaneously with with Theory. I only wish I had Justin, the internet, and all these tools way back when I was young. I bet you will be very happy if you stick with these lessons.
