Hi Glyn,
Welcome here and I wish you a lot of fun :sunglasses:

Once you have found this course there is no excuse for not learning to play beyond the beginner level , it doesn’t get any better with online teachers :sunglasses:

Yes im loving playing now. I get bored fast. When iv tried before, I wasnt enjoying it. Lesrning a couple of chords but kept lossing intrested. I wanted to play house of rising sun (bob Dylan version) I started practising that amd was seeing it devlope into something. This give me some enthusiasm to learn properly. Practicing that and making on tunes up to keep me motivated

Ivtried learning bith picking and stumming. Would say it was great but i wouldnt say was terrible. Having an F chird was challenging, im starting to prcagice it again as i know F chord is coming up on course

Hello Glyn & Welcome!

If you haven’t already, get yourself a stand or wall hanger so your guitar is always ready to play… I like to play for the few minutes that my coffee’s brewing in the mornings - that extra few minutes a day seems to make a difference in how fast things progress!!!
By the way, what do you play, acoustic or electric? Or both? Gear pics are nice… as a group, we here in this Community are a bit “over the top” about gear & everything related to guitar!!!

House of the Rising Sun is a good fingerstyle song too, it’s a nice PIMA piece to start working on using the fingers instead of a pick!

Good luck with your learning Journey… remember that you gotta keep it FUN so you always want to pick up that guitar & PLAY!!!

Tod from New Mexico USA

P.S. In case you don’t know “PIMA”…

I currently have acustic, i think in the future my style will be more focused on finger picking,.especially for wroting my own songs. Arm im at uni and money is tight so for bits of kit, il have to wait. My guitar sits next to me on settea during week and it goes on to other settea on weekends when my son ia here. I did that more through lazyness than anything but have found its been beneficial as im constantly picking it up amd playing.
