Hello Glyn & Welcome!
If you havenât already, get yourself a stand or wall hanger so your guitar is always ready to play⌠I like to play for the few minutes that my coffeeâs brewing in the mornings - that extra few minutes a day seems to make a difference in how fast things progress!!!
By the way, what do you play, acoustic or electric? Or both? Gear pics are nice⌠as a group, we here in this Community are a bit âover the topâ about gear & everything related to guitar!!!
House of the Rising Sun is a good fingerstyle song too, itâs a nice PIMA piece to start working on using the fingers instead of a pick!
Good luck with your learning Journey⌠remember that you gotta keep it FUN so you always want to pick up that guitar & PLAY!!!
Tod from New Mexico USA
P.S. In case you donât know âPIMAââŚ
Welcome to the community, Glyn!
Have fun on your guitar journey!
I currently have acustic, i think in the future my style will be more focused on finger picking,.especially for wroting my own songs. Arm im at uni and money is tight so for bits of kit, il have to wait. My guitar sits next to me on settea during week and it goes on to other settea on weekends when my son ia here. I did that more through lazyness than anything but have found its been beneficial as im constantly picking it up amd playing.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a âcommunityâ. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the community etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.

Hi Glyn, welcome to the community forum.
Welcome Glyn, and never give up. Youâre never too old to learn. I started about 30 years after you did and I am loving it! Youâll be a lot better in a year if you keep at it than if you hadnât for sure. Proven fact!
