Some one wanted me to do an intro to prove I am not a bot LOL. I just bought a Seagull Artist Peppino 2018 rose wood with a wide neck. I am getting back into guitar having learned as a teen.My playing is thumb and 3 fingers finger style. Folk, Blue Grass, and Classical on the steel string guitar. I am a luthier but won’t make any more guitars. In the future rose wood violins of a slightly different design, and lever harps.

Welcome to the community. It’s a great and friendly place to get advice. Even if you are no longer making guitars, it can be very helpful to our community. There are often questions regarding guitar problems, modifications and several community members post regular updates on their guitar builds - sometimes with problems to resolve.
Btw, bots are a common problem on all forums, including from time to time, this one. Although this forum is much better moderated than most.

What part of Idaho do you call home? My wife & I bought a hot air balloon from a guy in Idaho Falls once - driving there from Albuquerque New Mexico was our only experience with your state… it was absolutely amazing & beautiful driving along the Snake River…
By the way, how do you like your Seagull? I’ve had an Artist edition for about 20 years & more recently an S12, both of which play beautifully & sound really good! The wider than the “norm” neck is really nice for fingerstyle, although chords aren’t quite as easy for me (my hands are average sized) to finger sometimes.
At any rate, I think you’ll find Justin will help you to step back into playing guitar & this Community is a warm, welcoming place to hang out!

Sandpoint to Bonners Ferry area.
I bought the Seagull on Reverb as used, but it seems to be brand new. I changed the saddle from Tusq to bone and bridge pins to Ebony, and that brought out the true rich, warm, balanced sound. I would recommend don’t use Tusq. The local shop said it melts when they grind it down. I absolutely love the guitar. The sound is tops, and easy playing with the wide neck. The Indian rose wood is gorgeous. I am using Ernie Ball, Bell Bronze, 12-54 strings.
I am now only looking into the Marshal and Roland 100w amps. The Roland 1x12 and 2x5 and separate effects for the channels. Alan

I have tried many finger picks but so far don’t like any of them. A classical player told be to coat my nails with nail hardener. I did not want to do that due to toxic chemicals. Yesterday I found some nail strengthener at Walmart by Nail Aid that lists 20 toxic things it does not have. Also its Vegan and no animal testing. I cut my nails to try to get the Fred Kelly clear freedom picks to work better. Both were hitting the strings. Nails are too short now so I’m waiting for them to grow out with the hardener on them. I think the best removable picks closest to nails might be the Tiptonic picks but they have been closed for about 9 months due to moving to another state. Can’t do any vids until my nails are back.
