Hello! Salil from Melbourne, Australia

Hi friends, my love affair with guitar started over 20 years ago in college when me and friends used to listed to Iron Maiden and Dream Theater almost every day.
Then life happened and I lost touch with it for the last 10 years ago.
This year my 8 year old started learning piano in school and that brought back my music interest. I picked up the guitar again and like everyone else I found millions of videos on YouTube now.
Justin’s channel is one of the few ones I follow due to his ability to break down the knowledge in simple language. Hopefully this time the interest stays for good so that I am able to play some day with my daughter on piano and jam with her

Hi Salil,

Good luck with the guitar playing.
I hope you’re able to achieve you ambitions.
I have an 8 year old too, I have strategically positioned, keyboard, drum pad, and guitars around in the hope I can entice him to join in musically. So far only limited success but I live in hope.
Look forward to hearing you playing with your daughter someday.

Best wishes,

Alan

G’day, mate, and welcome aboard
I started guitar a couple of years ago because of my son as well.
Hope you stick with it and have a blast.

I wish I was in Melbourne this weekend.
Skyscraper Stan (one of my fave new artists) is playing a free gig at the Tramway Hotel tomorrow :open_mouth:

Hello Salil, and welcome to the community :hugs:.
I was kind of a latecomer, starting to play the guitar at the age of 47. I had to learn everything from scratch.
I’m sure, you’ll be progressing fast with all the things you’ve already learnt before.

I wish you lots of fun with your restart .

Hi Salil,
Welcome here and I wish you a lot of fun :sunglasses:
And a break of 10 years is often not what people here even call a short lunch break

Salil, welcome to the community. If you follow Justin’s course from the beginning and play your guitar a little each day, you will be playing along with your daughter soon. Have fun on this guitar journey.

Hi Salil, welcome. Good your daughter’s piano learning took the guitar player out of hibernation. I think that Justin Guitar courses provide easy steps, concrete achievable short term goals and a longer term path with many rewards in the route. Hopefully one of those rewards will be you playing together with your daughter, she on the piano and you on the guitar. Have fun.

Hello Salil. Welcome to JustinGuitar and the Community. It’s great you have found Justin’s lessons, he offers structure and a sure path to follow from the very beginning. Thousands and thousands have learned using his lessons. If you need any help with a lesson specific question or with any general guitar learning question then do not hesitate to ask. There are many good folk here who will happily offer help and encouragement to those coming up behind them on Justin’s Beginner Courses. They embody and carry the pay-it-forward ethos we have nurtured for many years in our community. There are many old hands too who have years and (hopefully) a bit of wisdom they can bring as they give their support to those hitting the road blocks - which we all do.
Just ask if you need anything.
Cheers
