Hi, I’m Vesa and I’ve started practicing guitar so many times over the decades that I can’t even remember. I’ve certainly made all the mistakes and sometimes the passion for playing the guitar has disappeared, but now I’m here again excited about this thing. I’m a young man a little under 50 years old and now it’s time to invest in the quality of training. Justin’s teaching material seems very good and I believe that now is the chance to finally learn to play. I think that the most important thing is to enjoy this journey, even if sometimes the training is painful, but at the end you can enjoy the success, as long as you don’t give up in those difficult moments.
My favorite music is Hendrix, Doors, CCR and almost all music from this era that I would especially like to learn to play. In addition, I would also like to learn to create music like this myself, mainly for my own pleasure.
So Let’s rock and enjoy the journey. Nice to meet you all!
Welcome to the community Vesa. I started playing at the age of 53 well over 10 years ago now. I had tried once before but didn’t stick to it. I can heartily say it’s worth sticking to it, the rewards are so very good. You won’t regret being able to play the guitar.
Thanks to Justin’s lesson on thumb and finger technique I’ve found it works very well for CCR songs and I now have half a dozen or so of them in my repertoire. Look forward to hearing more from you.
Hi Vesa,
Welcome, And indeed the most important thing is fun ,…and I sincerely wish you that a lot…And there is a shortcut in your guitar development,
(In response to your first post in another thread )…at least that applies to most people,… …learning theory can speed up your learning process,…it certainly helped me a lot
Greetings,Rogier
Hey, welcome Vesa. I love your approach and attitude!
You said you had sometimes lost the passion for playing guitar, but that you’re excited about it again. I’m curious, how did you go about re-exciting yourself to play it?
I think that now the enthusiasm to practice playing the guitar is partly due to the fact that now is somehow the right moment. The state of the world is sad and music is the best way to get your thoughts elsewhere, Pink Floyd’s song Hey Hey Rise Up hit hard. Enthusiasm for learning to play the guitar has always gone in cycles, so sometimes it just comes back. I’ve always listened to a lot of music, but now I got the feeling again that now is the time to learn to play the guitar myself. Now I remember to be patient and gradually learn the right things, and keep it fun.
Hello Vesa, it’s very nice to meet you .
In this community are several people who had an on-off-relationship with their guitar - until they found Justins course . I wish you lots of fun along your guitar journey, and that your new found enthusiasm will be always in your side .
Hello Vesa, your story will be familiar to many here and how good that you have now found Justinguitar, the lessons, the structure to help and, of course, the community to share it all.
Enjoy.
Ask if you need anything.
Cheers
