Hi from Germany! I am Betti :)

Hello everyone  :hibiscus:
I am from Germany :germany: and I found this website again through some one recommending it on Youtube. I remember having seen this website before, but at that point I was not too dedicated with the guitar yet or didn`t know how helpful it would be to have a structured learning routine.
I have started to play guitar some years ago, but then stopped in between… now I realized I needed to go back to the basics to really have a solid foundation. I hope I will be able to play the basic chords soon without having a buzzing/mute sound and being able to change the chords in time.

Looking forward to progress. Wish everyone a good time with learning the guitar. :guitar: God bless.

Hi Betti, again it is HEC here, you will see me around a lot, but concerning the community you are doing the right think posting in appropriate places etc, can I ask if you are doing any of Justins lessons ? as he has great begginer laessons on these exact chords and how to play them, and keep an eye on the community today you will find you will get lots more help very soon cheers HEC best of luck and shout out if you need any help at all :+1:

Thanks so much for your reply! Yes, I am doing the lessons Justin has on the Beginner course, but sometimes I am still insecure, if I am having a good position on the fingers as I have no one who could check on that in person. However, I feel like the Buzzing sounds have gotten a lot less already, so that is good!

Ok, so one or more of Justin’s approved teachers are always hanging around here, and I can guarantee one will pick up your post soon. I can give good advice, but I feel it is better from an approved teacher because it will happen Betti. Normally, Richard is very cool picking these posts up, so hopefully he may be around, if not I will keep an eye on your post and I will check it for you, cheers HEC

Hey Betti,
welcome!
Funny, just made a song together with a another fellow learner from this site and you were in it, although I mistyped you with a “y”, sorry!

Wish you lots of fun and success!
Take it slow and steady and don’t expect too much too fast!
And you’ll be rewarded with great guitar playing fun later on…

Hi Betti, and welcome! You’re on the right track. Start at the very beginning of Justin’s Beginner course and you’ll be playing clean basic chords within a week. (Well, not all the time, but you’ll be doing it!) You’ll. Be playing songs as well. Do all the lessons, ask questions here when you have them. Mostly, remember it’s about having fun!

Welcome to the community Betti. You will find there is a ton of support at Justin’s. Its really an incredible place to learn. I was really blown away but the level of help I recived here. You will find the same. Each lesson has a forum thread with discussion so if you have problem do not be shy asking questions. There are great instructors and lots of more advance players who really like to play it forward and help others. I remember what a difference it made for me. It only seems right to help others on thier own journeys.

Dont be afraid of making a short 4 second video clip of you fingers on frets or a snap shot with phone camera. These small things can do wonders in reciving the best help and even self assessment. You would not belive how much you see once you record yourself and review that recording. You can learn alot and grow from that technique.

Keep up the hard work.

If it was easy everyone would do it.

Hello Betti :slightly_smiling_face:

A very warm welcome to the forum from another German :sunflower:
You’ve found the perfect place for your musical journey.
I’ve been here for about two years now, and I’m still enjoying everything a lot.
The courses are very comprehensive, well structured and entertaining, and there are lots of song tutorials, too.
And the community is great, very kind and helpful.

I think it is a good idea to start from the basics again. So you surely won’t miss anything.

Have lots of fun and success on your guitar journey :guitar:

Danke Gunhild!

Thanks so much! Yes, I posted a video of my recording already here from changing chords just so that if my finger position was wrong someone could point it out. But yes maybe just from reviewing it myself could also help. So thanks for the advice
