Hi all, from Boise, Idaho, USA. I started with JustinGuitar in January '24. It wasn’t a New Year’s resolution, rather I was cleaning out my office space and had to decide whether to sell or play my old Gibson acoustic guitar. I decided to learn, about 32 years after taking a few lessons in the early 90s - career got in the way. Now retired, I’m really enjoying this journey. I’m nearing the end of Module 2 and decided it’s appropriate to get an electric guitar. I’m super stoked because it arrived today. I’m looking forward to may hours continuing to learn.
Welcome to the community, Rob and Happy NGD!!
That’s a beautiful Les Paul - I wish you loads of fun and many hours of playing together. Enjoy your guitar journey.
Hi Rob,
Welcome here and … Happy NGD
What an incredibly beautiful guitar
If it was 2.7 kilos or lighter I would buy it tonight …but it isn’t
I wish you a lot of fun
Greetings,Rogier
Welcome to the forum Rob. Love the color of your Les Paul
Hi Rob, welcome to the community forum and Happy NGD. That is definitely a great looking guitar. I like everything about it. Makes me want to trade in my Epiphone LP Ultra.
Welcome, Rob, to the JGC and it seems you might be quite excited with your NGD acquisition …
I hope it inspires you through Module 3 and beyond.
Wealth warning … an electric guitar can open up so many new GAS options, like fx pedals and amps.
Take your time as you progress, and above all keep having fun at the fore …
welcome and Happy new guitar day
Hi Rob,
Welcome to the community. I’m glad you’re enjoying Justin’s courses.
Nice new guitar. You can’t go wrong with a Les Paul. I’ve had mine for almost 30 years and I still love it!
I’m one of Justin’s recommended teachers. Feel free to send me a message if you need any help with anything.
That is a hell of a way to start level 3. That LP is totally sick. Way to go bro, you will be grinding that axe to oblivion amd back.
Thanks, Roger… it comes in at 4.2kg, quite a bit heavier than my acoustic.

Thanks for that advice. I’ll be careful about acquiring accessories. For now, I just have an amp.

I gaze into my crystal ball and wait im am seeing something. Yes its clear…
I see an overdrive pedal
Welcome to the community. I love guitar playing even more now that I’m retired. Just finished two hours on the guitar this morning. Look forward to hearing more from you.
Hi Rob, welcome! My name is also Rob, and I’m originally from Nampa, ID, but I’m currently living in Minneapolis. I have an old Yamaha classical guitar that I bought in Boise in 1980, just as I was starting college at Boise State. I was in the music department as a percussion major but needed to choose a minor, so I decided to study guitar. This past summer, I pulled that Yamaha out of the closet and decided to finally learn to play it for real.
Heyo! I also started learning guitar after a question of to sell or to learn. So glad I did! This community is great, really inspiring, keeps me on-track for sure.
I don’t know much about guitars but that one is very pretty . I would like to hold it lol.
Very cool, Rob. Small world. Classical style guitar playing is another level… best wishes on that learning journey.
