Thanks for the welcome. my 6-strings (three of them) are in almost pristine condition. I need to remedy that.

I guess that it it depends on how strictly you define the term luthier. 
I started learning how to build acoustic guitars about 3 and 1/2 years ago. Have something to do in retirement. To name Clueless Luthier came about because I decided to document my learning journey on YouTube. I have also built my wife @LongSufferingWife an electric bass guitar. Enjoy your journey on Justin guitar, it’s a great site and this is a wonderful community.

The guitar Journey is very rewarding ( along with some frustrations along the way!
), but with practice & persistence you will overcome any physical limitations & become a skilled guitarist!
Sounds like you may have a case of GAS - Guitar Acquisition Syndrome… nobody here in the Community seems to even be interested in curing it… just keep getting another guitar!!! 
Be careful though… with an electric guitar & a bass, there’s a lot of fun gear to explore as your playing improves! Amps, pedals, etc… all kinds of fun stuff!
That reminds me, FUN… having Fun along the way is the most important ingredient in the recipe for success!

Yep! I definitely have G.A.S. I’m told that it’s not hoarding if it’s guitars.
Right now, I am trying to remove the rust from my fingers and get them used to stretching out again. My chord changes aren’t very smooth yet, but I have hope.

Richard, thanks for the information about the approved teachers. I’ve met an individual on this platform who lives nearby and that I hope I can practice with on a regular basis. I like the idea of the open mic. Hopefully, I will feel confident enough before the end of the year.
