Just introducing myself. I’m Neale, 63 years old and recently retired and decided it was time to take up guitar. I’d tried briefly when I was 19 but didn’t have the time or patience then to keep with it. Justin’s website is incredible and makes learning so much easier and fun.
I started 6 months ago with an acoustic guitar, but on Justin’s advice a bought a cheap electric guitar which is so much easier and more friendly on the finger pain.
Currently on Module 10 of the beginners course and thoroughly enjoying it and excited about the progress I’m making.
If there’s anyone at a similar level in the Leicestershire area who fancies buddying up for a few jams and practice then contact me.
Hi Neale and welcome to this wonderful community I hope you enjoy the journey if you need any help at all just ask, I am 65 in about a week’s time same story as you so there you go cheers Hec

Hey Neale, welcome to the forum, great to meet you. Awesome you are picking on a life long goal. The reward is very good. I started over 10 years ago when I was 53 and being able to just pull a song or two or three out of my back pocket any time, thanks to Justin, is a wonderful thing. Look forward to hearing more from you.
Hello Neale & Welcome!!!
I hope that you have lots of fun in your guitar Journey!
Learning to play is definitely challenging but also very rewarding! Enjoy!

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the community etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
