My name is Viktor, and I am 45 years old, from Slovenia. I’ve been trying to learn to play the guitar since I was 16, but I’ve struggled with consistency and have only managed to stick with it for about a month each time. However, I decided to give it another go on February 1st, and I’ve been practicing every day for at least an hour. I’m already noticing some progress!
What motivates me even more now is that my wife sings, and she hopes that one day I can accompany her on the guitar. To help me on this journey, I signed up for the Justin Guitar app.
How wonderful that you have a woman who can sing and that you want to do that together… follow the course and very very soon you will be playing music together, 2 or many easy 3 chord songs, often too (or quick) boring if you do it alone but with singing … Wow … enjoy
Hi Viktor, welcome to the great community here and to the Class of 2025. So lucky you having a wife you can make music togetgher with. It would be great to hear from you both, maybe a slovenian song?
Good vibes and best of fun

Hi Viktor. Great that your staying with your practice routine. JG seems to make that easy and each lesson surly has something to offer making it easy to note that your improving.
Great motivator for sure. I’m near envious of you. I sure wish I could get my wife to sing. So far, I haven’t.
imho, having the melody (singing) with your guitar playing will likely be a great motivator.
Keep at it man, making music is a great skill to acquire.
Have a great time in your journey.
YEah! playing with your wife: great goal.
Then, you can suck all your friends in the backdraft of your music, and they’ll be more inclined to participate too, and before you know it, you’ve got a stronger community, people are smiling more, and enjoy company more.
Hi Viktor, welcome to the community forum. Keep following Justin’s lessons and learning songs and you will soon be accompanying your wife singing while you play the guitar.
I’m very happy to hear that Justin’s app is helping you to learn & improve your skills! To those who are new to guitar, I always advise to purchase a stand for your guitar & keep it where it’s easy to pick up when you only have a few minutes… you mentioned that you have a wife, surely then you probably have a few minutes (or hours) while you’re waiting for her to get ready to go out!!! Seriously, I like to practice while the coffee is brewing in the morning! Those 5-10 minutes here & there add up & make a difference!
Good luck this time! Keep it Fun!!!
