Higher octaves

Why an higher octave at the end of a song sounds so cool? Does it sound cool to others too?
Since I learnt to play Greensleeves I just can’t help it… I play the last chord of songs up the neck :woman_shrugging:
It’s the same feeling of Do Re Mi from the Sound of Music, when it gets back to Do, an higher Do, it feels like some sort of magic has happened!

It brings everything to a close. Gives it an ending. Same thing with the turn around in the blues it either brings you back to the beginning or give the song a nice closing. With Do Re Mi the last note is the 7th it leaves you hanging like you’re not done yet. The octave completes the conversation.
