How can I train myself to memorise the notes on the fretboard?

And try to remember that you wont learn this overnight. Its a process that takes time.

Hi Phossu,
I memorized the natural notes on each fret from low E to high E. (1st fret is F X X X C F, second fret is X B E A X X, etc). It simplifies the fretboard for me. Add in other relationships like octaves to reinforce. Then, if you know the naturals, you can easily determine the sharps/flats by the adjacent natural notes.
