How do I add a lesson to my Practice Routine?

Hi, how do I add a lesson to my practice, please?

Hi @Niksmith1410, at the end of each module, you will find a pre-made practice routine encompassing all you have learned in that module. In the last couple of lessons of module 1 Justine explains how to use the practice assistant and how to load the pre-made routines in the assistant.

@LadyOfTheCastle Is this any different than using the practice part of the app?

@LadyOfTheCastle I’ve noticed that the inside of my hand touches the back of the guitar when I’m playing the D chord, idk if that’s bad? I just can’t seem to get a strong hold on the chord. Maybe I’ll try to post a picture later and see if I can get any more specific advice on what I’m doing wrong?

Hey @toodledoodledoo, I know you asked @LadyOfTheCastle, but I’ll offer this: have a look at the Grade 1 Module 1 video, especially beginning at 6:15.

@judi I’ve watched it many times, as recently as last night again. I just can’t seem to figure out how to replicate it. :frowning:

Where’s your thumb resting against the neck? And which direction is it pointing?

Yes and no. it’s the same exercises. But on the website, you will have to load the routine in the practice assistant (no worries, there’s a lesson on how to do this in module 1 - it’s easy). On the website, you can also create your own exercises and practice routines, but you don’t need that for now.

With the A and E, your fingers will be mostly going vertically, going from below the neck more or less straight up. For the D, you’ll want your fingers more to go slanted, pointing up and forwards toward the body if your guitar. This wil help with your reach.
