Sorry to hear about your health challenges Darrell. Bummer how it is impacting your guitar playing too. Although I’m sure that’s a minor concern. Fingers crossed you get on the mend soon.
Hope you recover, and quickly. Today will be the day they find out what it is that’s actually ailing you and how best to treat it! Play regardless as you can. It’s a great medicine!
Oh no! Haven’t been around a lot lately and missed your post!
I sincerely wish that your body has an insight and will go back to have you feeling better!
All the best, Dominique
I have a bit of an update, more blood tests - both for the continued investigation and for monthly testing of Kidney function, which can be affected by the medication being prescribed. The level of antibodies for Lyme disease isn’t as high as expected for the time period since the bite, plus the level was lower on the second test. They think there’s a possibility that Covid spiked the generation of the antibodies; there could be an association with Long Covid. I had Long Covid following my first infection so it’s possible that I had the same antibodies then. They’re looking at other samples of people’s blood who have Long Covid to see if there are any abnormal antibodies present. It may be one of the factors in Long Covid, and why not everyone gets it.
The meds are helpful but I am still not much better than I was; however I do feel more positive about things as the prognosis would have been very bad if I did have full blown Lymes.
Thanks again for everyone who has wished me luck and better health, it means a lot to me!
My blood tests have shown up slightly high Potassium levels so it looks probable that my meds aren’t doing my kidneys any good, it’s not high enough to be alarmed about but I have to have weekly blood tests now incase it starts getting higher.
Apart from that I do feel a bit better now and am able to be more myself as regards what I can do physically. I just hope we don’t have to go down the trying out different meds route.
Further update, I have cut down on Bananas and Peanut butter on toast for breakfast and dropped my high dose Vitamin D3 + K2 down to the highest recommended dose instead of double that and cut down on Alcohol. My Potassium is now normal after only a week (thank goodness!); so no alterations to my meds at the moment. I seem to be fairly stable now and although I’m not able to do what I used to do yet I’m hoping things will get better as the meds start to do their stuff. I’m due for a review of the meds in a couple of weeks time
Great news Darrell and long may it continue.
