OK, I’m hoping to start a theme with this one. This summer will be the first time since 1998 that Scotland have made it to the finals of the men’s World Cup, so I wrote a wee song…
I’m hoping someone will join me and write a wee song for their country!
Haha yes great song. I went to Spain 1982 and my claim to fame was meeting Rod Stewart in a pub. He didn’t buy me a drink! I later found out that he got totally pi**ed and someone stole his expensive designer watch.
I truly admire all my fellow guitarists who can write a full song, including lyrics; I’ve never been able to do that (or perhaps I haven’t tried hard enough ).
Great job!
I was at Annfield in 1977 to watch Scotland beat Wales and thus qualify for Argentina. The second goal, that secured our place, was scored by Kenny Dalglish, the best footballer I’ve ever seen ‘in the flesh’. Happy days!
Happy days indeed. Who knows, we might have some success again this time around. Then again we’ll probably lose to Haiti, draw with Morocco, beat Brazil and then get knocked out on goal difference!
Yes, it will be good to see Scotland be the whipping boys of the World cup Or should that be whipping up a storm…
Only jesting, my hero was the late legend that was John Robertson of the mighty NFFC.
Great that you’ve written a tune for your boys. Hope it all goes well in the WC.
I may write one for England called Crushing Disappointment of the Overhyped.
