Ah OK, Dom, igonore me completely and do what you always do.
I’ll look them up. I can use all the help I can get, electronically or otherwise. Thanks David.
A beautifully sad song, Dom. It’s touching deep down inside.
Having this long time of good bye is a familiar feeling for me as well, as my grandma had dementia, too. As mentioned by John, the line “Please forgive while I forget you” ist incredibly brilliant, is say everything about this condition.
Such a heartfelt, emotional song, Dom. I loved this beautiful original. Well done.
Dom,
What Maggie @batwoman says:
“This piece of music rests on my heart.” is, if anything, an understatement… this is arguably the most heart wrenching & heartfelt piece I’ve heard here in the Community.
Recording issues aside, this was beautiful… my wife & I lost her mother to Alzheimer’s a few years back & the pain of watching & caring for this lovely, once vibrant woman fading away… incredibly sad & tragic…
my favorite line - “The lifetimes we’ve been weaving have started to unwind”, I remember thinking this at the time… like a favorite sweater that’s started unravelling…
The Long Goodbye - those words are very descriptive - ought to be whispered in the outro over & over… fading away as the song ends.
Thank you for posting this!
Tod
Thanks a million Eddie. As ever, a work in progress
The things that make us human and the price of having a big heart, I guess
Thank you for your beautiful comment Maggie
Thank you Brian. I took the belated opportunity to listen to your masterpiece. Wow is all I can say. Love to you and your mother. Play on!
Thank you Gordon
It’s a terrible cruel way to have to bow out Lisa. Thank you for your comment.
Thank you Pamela
Thank you so much Tod. You’re on to something there. Funnily enough I’ve knocked out another version and tried something similar. Coming to a set of ear phones near you…
Dom you need to re-record this as it was a really good song.
