If Playing Guitar was Like an RPG

As a kid, I was always neck deep in some kind of role-playing game, either tossing dice in Dungeons & Dragons or grinding XP in Final Fantasy. Lately I’ve been revisiting all that childhood nerdiness, and it made me look at my current hobby of playing guitar and wonder what it would look like if that were an RPG instead.

If guitar playing were an epic role-playing game, what would a player’s stat block look like? Picking? Strumming? Rhythm? Scales? Fretboard Mastery? Ear Training? What do you think the abilities should reflect? And, just as important, what ones are you working on leveling up now?

As it happens you could use a similar idea for Justin’s 6 areas of guitar practice.

Having said that I don’t practice all 6 areas. It’s way too much for my brain to deal with. I prefer to do 1 thing at a time.

I love this. Haha so fun

I may have to role a guitar adventurer later myself.
