Better to be referenced in the ā€œWhat am I listening toā€ thread. I will get right on that…

EDIT: Done!

Such good brass players. There sure are not as many players filling these guys shoes. Scary.

Ibarra ii. ( Ivan Iacson) 13 June 2026

Devastated to hear the sudden passing of a beautiful soul, and a truly gifted musician.

Ibarra ii. ( Ivan Iacson)

who passed away 48 hrs ago - 13th June 2026.

Not all the great ones have to be rich or famous.
What a treasure this man was.

Ibarra had a YouTube channel where he played ethereal covers of songs, as well as many of his own beautiful compositions. Masterful.

If you never knew him, go check out his channel.
You’ll be changed.

Fly high my friend.

The Texas-born musician was the lead singer and co-writer of the band’s biggest hits including YMCA, Go West and In The Navy.

Oh, how shamelessly I used to scream along to that music as a drunken teenager… apologies for your ears if you’re reading this and knew me in Amersfoort back in the 80s… :hear_no_evil_monkey: …I also have fond memories of various parties… sometimes—very occasionally—the disco was actually quite bearable for me…

Died way too young …

Canadian country star Tommy Hunter dead at 89

Probably not too well known outside of Canada but I expect that some of the performers who played on his TV show would be familiar.
ā€œMr. Hunter welcomed a glittering list of country stars: Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Anne Murray, Trisha Yearwood, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, the Judd family, Hank Snow, Clint Black, Martina McBride and even a young Shania Twain, who then went by Eileen.ā€

My Dad used to like the show and it certainly brings back some old memories.
