I can mute. I just can’t fret with my “driving finger”. I learned that term from Justin.

For some people this is a good way to start playing slide guitar… most people’s driving finger rests quietly on the strings behind the slide… no fretting with that finger
And there is indeed plenty of theory to learn without the guitar at hand, this forum knows several people who could not stay out of the kitchen

I have absolutely no idea, I watched a video with a beginner slide guitar 2 weeks ago (but it is still under copy write), but Justin tells me that it is a matter of trying… each different hand/finger would could use another one…I’ll look for an older video of Justin and see if I can find it…
