Hope this is OK to post here (Richard or Fanny please take down if not). Anyway, Hi to anyone in the UK, especially fellow BLIM students. Our little restaurant overlooking the beach on the South Wales coast is doing its best to support live music. Through a “friend of a friend” we’ve managed to get David Starr, a Country Blues guitarist from Colorado to play an intimate gig whilst he’s in the UK (he usually plays much bigger venues).
Hopefully will be chance to meet David informally too and perhaps pick up some tips.
It’s a great area for a holiday too as our beach was voted one of the World’s top 10 in Conde Naste, and our area (Gower) was the NYT No.1 “places you should visit in 2023”
If you do come, please ask for me (Jez) so I can say “Hi”.

Thank you Jason. We try to do our bit and are being rewarded with a bit of a reputation as a great little casual venue as the setting is so good. We’ve got some very experienced artistes who’ve asked to play as well as creating space for newbies. We also keep a “play me” guitar hung on the wall to encourage spontaneous performances after a beer or two.
I’ve been playing for around 50 years (I’m now 58) but have never really “learnt”. BLIM is my first foray into structured lessons and I’ve learnt loads. I generally don’t post videos as I prefer to keep a fairly low profile online.
That is so cool Jez. I mean the imagery makes me wish I had a little pub with a guitar on the wall. How fun would that be.
I love Wales I have had many a great time in that area wish I was going back cheers HEC
