I have been playing guitar just shy of 4 years… pretty solid on open chords and quite a few Barr chords. speed is great on open, and a little less with Barr. I try to play every day even if just ten minutes. some days are hours, depending on work schedule
I play out with others at open mic nights. and have went to can awesome blues guitar workshop in clarksdale Mississippi I will be there again this march.
figured I would try this course to build more skill in lead and solo’s.
I’m currently working 6 days a week 12 hours a day. but my goal is to grab as much as I can during, then a deeper dive when time permits.
that is what I joined for, the blues immersion course. I know it has started. but I haven’t quite figured out how it works. figured I would receive links to videos for the start. but never saw anything as of yet… I have downloaded info for unit one, but that’s a far as I got with my current workload.
Oke that great …
However, it will take a while before the next one starts… the last one has just started and the next one will come in 2027… but you can lay a nice foundation with the many other lessons and courses … whatever you choose to do, I wish you fun,
Yes there is …but “we” not blim4 can not see it , I did blim 1 and in 6 months all blim forums will be brought together in blim 1, then I can see you there … ( or all new discussion I guess start there and the others will be shut down) But here it is much busier and also quite fun in “the open” just be careful that we do not post copywright things or spoilers for the next generations
I got this from a post by Richard …I hope this helps,
Many thanks for joinging Blues Immersion and I’m happy you’ve found this Community.
There is a lot of mutual support and encouragement and more in a dedicated space for BLIM Class 4 students here: https://community.justinguitar.com/c/blues-immersion-class-4/427
It’s really not that bad once you get used to it. Wake up at 315am
I play every morning for about 30min while having a coffee and spending time with my dog.
Home a little after 6. Dinner. And bed around 830pm.
I’m either committed, or should be committed but I will say I’m happier getting to play a bit in the mornings.
I tried doing it in the evenings at first. But by the end of day I’m just ready to unwind and sleep.
Hello Rob & Welcome!!!
Not a BLIMmer so I can’t help you out with that but I hope you feel welcome here! Lots of helpful people around so if you have questions, just ask!!!
Have fun playing Blues!!!
Welcome to the forum Rob. That’s a heavy work schedule. It’s good that you practice in the mornings when you are fresh. It’s more difficult to learn when you are tired from a long day.
Hey Rob, welcome to the community. From my perspective you’ve nailed one of the important parts of learning. Do it every day, even for just 10 minutes keeps the progress going. Look forward to hearing more from you.
welcome to the forum Rob! It sounds like you’ve got some experience. I practice as much as possible even if it’s just for 20 to 30 minutes a day. You said you just learned barre chords, if you’ve learned power chords, you probably could try learning basket case by green day. Justin does have a lesson on it. I guess I’ll post it here.
Hi Robert, welcome to the community. I’m sure that you will enjoy the BLIM course. I just signed up for next year’s wait list. You might check your email “junk” or “spam: directory to see if you got any emails with links to the course.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.
Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny.
Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses - of which I am privileged to be one.
A warm welcome to our Community Rob! It was great to read that despite the lack of time you feel so motivated to learn! Learning to play the guitar brings so much joy into our days that really you just look foward to grab it even if for just 10 minutes!
