Jam Track Product Distinctions

I’m at the Advancing Beginner Stage, just finished Beginner Grade 2, and I’m looking to purchase one or more of Justin’s backing track products to start improvising with the Major Scale.

What is the difference between “Jam Major Vol. I: Guitar” and “Jam Rock Vol. I: Guitar”? The descriptions for both indicate they are for lead guitar. Is one recommended over the other for any particular reason?

Also, I’m assuming the “Jam Chords Vol. I: Guitar” is more suited to specifically strumming practice vs. scale improvisation - is that a fair assessment?

Thanks for asking about this, Nayan. I’m at the beginning of Grade 3, and will benefit from the responses!

And: welcome to the community! We’d love to know more about your guitar journey - if you feel like it, do introduce yourself over here.

Hello Nayan.
Welcome to the community.

Jam Major is very specifically designed to practing playing and making music with major scales invdifferent keys.
These tracks are deliberately written and recorded by Justin and musician friends to help develop that skill.
They are original pieces of music. Each states which key it is in.

Jam Rock has a similar purpose but is not necessarily for major scale practice only. Some songs on there are suited to other scales. You can bring to And, if you look atvthe list of titles, you will see each track is very much meant to sound like a famous song.

Jam Chords is for rhythm practice as you say.
