Jimi Hendrix - Wait Until Tomorrow (Beginner interpretation / work in progress)

Hi all,

Im 10 months into my guitar journey, the last two of which have been primarily R&B / Hendrix stuff. There’s so much to learn out of each of his songs, and for me, Wait Until Tomorrow is one of his most underrated songs, solely due to the fact the guitar track is buried under the vocals and you can’t quite make out the stuff he’s playing and how good it is. I highly recommend looking for the guitar track only on YT so you can hear what I mean

Anyway, here’s my attempt at learning my 2nd Hendrix song, Wait Until Tomorrow.

Unlike the last one I posted here last month, this one is still work in progress, there are still some voicings/fills that I cannot play in time, so I skipped them in the recording.

Also, it’s not the entire song from start to finish, but I’m working on it a lot, so I’ll post the full one, once I’m able to play it fully. :slightly_smiling_face:

Jimi Hendrix - Wait Until Tomorrow (Beginner interpretation)

That’s probably the hardest song I started learning so far and it actually took me around 2 weeks of daily practice to get to that point, so I’m proud of it and I wanted to share it, despite how good or bad it is😅

Hi Teodor, nice to meet you, and that guitar you are playing is very good indeed, it shows how constant practice pays off keep that type of playing up and we will be hearing more of you well done cheers HEC

Very good performance: sounding very Hendrix like in places - the very opening of the piece and at around the minute mark. Your timing is a bit erratic in places. Overall, very well played.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the feedback!

I’ll be working on the timing for sure, I hear that too, especially around 0:30.

Usually that’s the first thing I try to work out in a song - the way stuff fits into the rhythm, but for some reason it feels extra difficult on that song for me.

I’ll make sure to post an update once I get better at it!

Thanks!

Hi Teodor, that is a good recording. Good standard no matter how long someone has been playing so to see you are 10 months into your journey is amazing.

Great job, Teodor!!!
