have fun

Hi Joshua, welcome to the community :grinning:

The books are great but better used, in my opinion, as a supplement to the online courses. It’s easier to track your progress in the online Dashboard, and there are already set practice routines at the end of each lesson that you can simply load into your dashboard. It saves you having to write them out, like you would in the book! The online course also has Justin’s latest teaching materials and methods. I think the book was written more than 15 years ago at this point.

I have the books too but I find the web based system preferable. The book isn’t a direct copy of the online though. Stages 1-9 in the book covers Grades 1 and 2 in the new system but many of the lessons in the book map pretty clearly to lessons in the online course. I occasionally still use the book for reference, so it’s definitely worth having too. You can put page markers in a book - not so easy in the web based version!

The songbooks are great too, I still get lots of use out of mine. They’re a great supplement to the song tutorial videos.

If it was me, I would spend the money on Songbook volume 2 rather than the course book. Ultimately, it’s your choice - you know how you learn best.

That’s a good point. It’s worth noting that the course book is for the old classic course which has since been updated.

I already have the Beginners Course Book but somehow lost the CD’s, So I am planning on ordering the book again. Thanks everyone for the tips.

Greetings,
Joshua

The audio files are given in the website version of the old course https://www.justinguitar.com/classes/beginner-guitar-course-class

The Link doesn’t seem to work.

This seems to be a working link to the old course

I didn’t check the videos though I will very soon … simply because I’m curious
