Justin Guitar for Vocals

Does anyone know of a voice lesson service similar to what Justin has done for guitar here?

I see a lot of AI powered training apps but nothing that is really doing vocal lessons in this way.

I know, that several members here have done online singing lessons by Chris Liepe. Seems to be a full course.
Maybe @TheMadman_tobyjenner or @DavidP can help?

I’d also love to hear from anyone who tried Chris Liepe’s course.

I did Discovery Your Voice.

In a nutshell it totally transformed my singing. I could feel it but more importantly many people commented on the change.

But like all learning, it took time and effort. Positioned as a 12 week course. It took me 12 months, but I tried to be ready before moving on.

You can check my YouTube channel. There’s a playlist with a few exercises. And my most recent Originals or covers. Also check undere collaborations for a production of Love In Vain. Added bonus of that is that @Richard_close2u plays the guitar.

You can also listen to this as a before: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qdT3FWdJl8I2KADUTTn6JYG91eH6-Ltr/view?usp=drive_link

So I thoroughly recomend it.

Thanks David. I had got the (wrong?) impression it’s only for rock singers, sounds like it’s generally applicable…

@Beatup6String Absolutely Ashu. A lot of his videos on the channel focus on rock but Discover Your Voice is all fundamentals. If I recall correctly he may have other courses which get more into the rock singing, but memory may be failing me there.

Of course, I can only speak for myself, and add that a couple of other people here also had a positive beneficial experience. That said, I’d say if you want to improve your singing and are willing to put in the time to do the exercises then DYV is a great option.

I can only echo DP’s comments on DYV and thanks @Helen0609 for the tag. And like David my 12 week course also ran for about a year and I never finished the last couple of weeks. But it took me from a limited range of just a few notes, not even a full scale, to covering close on 2.5 octaves. And yes you need to put a lot of effort and practice in to develop your vocals, just like the advancement of playing the guitar.

And you need to keep working at it. In fact I took a dive into DYV this week, after very little playing since last July but zero singing as well on the recording side. Having now got or getting close to a weekly practice routine that includes a Songbook day, I realised not only my playing was very rusty but my vocal well had dried up as well. So you need to keep working these instruments.

Highly recommend Chris Liepe for lessons (note paid courses) and would reference my original Madman Diaries Chapters on my YT channel, that document my singing and playing development.
