I donât know, if anybody else picked this up here already, as I wasnât very present at the community for a few days.
Justin shared a video of himself on fb yesterday (20 years anniversary), playing a cover of âI shot the Sheriffâ in Katie Meluaâs band, 14 years ago, thought this maybe might be interesting for one or the other here. (I know, that those of you, who are here for years, might have seen those videos already).
I instantly remembered a second one, I came across months ago, as I was searching for Katieâs cover of The Cureâs âJust like Heavenâ but completely forgot. See the nice and very young guy in the background.
Thank you Helen. I enjoyed those videos immensely.
I saw Katie Melua live in concert in Glasgow many years ago, long before I had started learning guitar and before Iâd ever heard of Justin. I wonder if he was in the band at that concert and if Iâve seen him without knowing it.
Nice, you had the chance to see Katie Melua and maybe Justin live in concert. I knew the second video for years, without knowing, that this guy in the background would change my life immensly
I canât remember the set list from the Glasgow concert but Nine Million Bicycles was definitely on it and it was around the time that the Piece by Piece album came out. So it looks as if I may well have seen Justin.
Nice share Andrea.
Is that Ken Bruce on drums as well?
Awesome share Helen, thank you!
Donât know, Stefan.
Great video, Helen. Nice to see Justin in such exalted company. He did an amazing job, as did the rest of the band
Odds on he was playing in the band then. You were probably being subconsciously âgroomedâ
Didnât know Mike Batt was her protĂŠgĂŠ she was Mike Battâs protĂŠgĂŠ and that he wrote 9 mio bicycles
He wrote the fabulous Ride to Agadir which I used in my home movie soundtrack to Kabul, 1971
Mike Batt also wrote another of Katieâs hits - Closest Thing To Crazy which I think is her best song. Her vocals are brilliant!
He also wrote Art Garfunkelâs Bright Eyes
And of course he was the âWomblesâ man. I read somewhere that no one would take him seriously as an artist after the Wombles. !
Totally agree! Her voice is exeptional.
For some strange reason when I read that sentence the first thing that popped in my head were strange little creatures that live in Wimbledon Common
OoooâŚ.go careful with that head of yours JamesâŚ.did you know that the first sign of madness is hairs on the palm of your hand?
And the second is looking for them !
Hey! He stole my plunder!
Back to the thread Andrea - thereâs a video somewhere in the Playground section of Justin playing harmonica on one of Katieâs songs.
Really enjoyed these videos. Thanks
Nice playing from Justin, not sure about the beanie hat.
No problem at all, guys! Always ready to laugh at a good joke !
