Hi All,

I have signed up to the JustinGuitar Lessons & Songs App. Do you know if the Music Theory Course compliments the app or is there a lot of duplication?

The music theory course is a very big thing that stands alone … I don’t know the app and there will probably be some overlap, but the Course is the best and most complete online music theory that can be found according to many and myself :smiley:

Hi Ashish, the online music theory course is a big deal, from start to finish it is very well put together and is worth the time you put into it cheers Hec and it is nice to meet you

Welcome to the community!

As I recall, the app mirrors the basic lessons (web based) up to or through grade 3 maybe, but is completely different than the Music Theory course, which is a stand alone course.

Both are absolutely worth it, although if you only wanted to do one, you would go with the app and leave the theory until later.

There is a lot of theory available free online, but Justin’s theory course is very well organized, is easily cross referenced to his course and is pretty inexpensive, especially for what it is. I would go for both if you can.

Many thanks. I have signed up for a year for the Music Theory course and will do this in parallel with the course on the app. I’m loving Justin’s teaching style and eager to progress.
