Hi there,
You can find the contents of the various books on this link: https://www.justinguitar.com/store/books
Beginner Songbook 1 mentions “chords, lyrics, strumming patterns, and exclusive guitar tricks”, while the Xmas Songbook mentions “chords, lyrics, TABs, and special tips”.
I haven’t used any of these, but I assume that their structure is similar.
you can download a free christmas songs booklet here :
It will give you an idea of what’s inside the books I guess
Hi @Rodduz
You will enjoy whichever book you choose to buy. They’re all good.
To see a full song list, click on the link @Jozsef gave and then click on See more
This is a fun festive freebie … but its contents and layout are not representative of the fuller scope of the songbooks. Thanks for raising its awareness again!
ah ? sorry I didnt know
but I least that’s a freebie for christmas
YES
If I may be a little critical … it is okay but not Justin’s best book.
Agreed. This festive freebie is in no way representative of any of Justin’s other songbooks. The Christmas songs it contains are very much simplified versions of some of the songs in the ‘proper’ Christmas songbook. For example, the 12 days of Christmas in the ‘proper’ songbook is in E and contains barre chords B and F#7. The freebie version is in G and uses open chords G, C and D7. Nothing wrong with that of course, I’m just pointing out the difference.
I have most of the Justin song books. They are terrific and give the lyrics, chords, suggested strum pattern plus hints and tips on how to play them. The songs within the books are graded with many of the earlier grade songs being ‘growers’ that you can add to as your skills increase.
I’m currently looking at my Justin Acoustic Songbook and it ranges from beginner songs right up to fully tabbed versions of ‘Blackbird’ and Tears in Heaven’.
If you want to see how they look inside, Justin has a promo video for the acoustic one. It’s the same layout for all of them.
Yes and as you can see, they are spiral bound so lie flat on your music stand/table. I’m sure we’ve all suffered with books that won’t stay open.
Thanks all, great help.
Im not sure it’s what I’m looking for. From that youtube video it doesn’t look like I could learn a song from the way the book is written or am i wrong?
The 2 beginner songbooks offer easier songs than the genre songbook (rock, acoustic etc…) if you are in grade 1 and 2. The genre songbooks are better suited for end of grade 2-3 and upwards. For instance, you can check examples for the rock songbook in my post here Math07 Rock songbook
Many songs in the books have video tutorial from Justin on the website (https://www.justinguitar.com/songs) so you use that to learn the songs. The tabs in the book make it easier to remember all the small details that he says in the lesson.
