Lack of Updates Here

It’s been a few months since I used the app, save for a few of my favorite songs that I’ve played sporadically.

Then I noticed one of my favs was gone. I came here looking to see what has been changed, but there is not list.

The following are the songs that have gone missing from just my favorites list, it would be nice to know if all regions are the same or if there’s differences in licensing. So please let me know if anyone still has any of these songs on their app. In total there were 89 all up that were removed. That said, I have also added 73 new songs to my favorites that have been added in that time, though I would say I liked many of the ones I lost more than the ones I gained. Hopefully I’ll see more 80s rock, grunge, and hard rock.

That’s very interesting. Thanks for sharing!
First, we have seen it before that songs needed to be removed from the app because of licensing changes initiated by the respective license holders. Also, Musopia often is not allowed to communicate a full list of songs that needed to be removed from the app, because of confidentiality clauses in the contracts.

On the app there isn’t an easy and straightforward way to double-check which songs have been removed. So I’m curious how you made it possible to figure out which songs have been removed from your favorites?

Let me tag the @MusopiaApps team.

Hmm I hadn’t heard anything about that. Do you remember where you read that?

Ahh, I like to play with madness…

I made a spreadsheet that lists the following for all the songs in my favorites:

Artist
Song
BPM
Strum Pattern
Chords
Chord Density (Average number of chords per barre)
Quantity of Difficult Chords (1-6 scale; how often they are used in the song)
Missing Chords (Chord chart pic for unfamiliar chords missing from the app)
Chord Type (Open, Power, Barre (and shape), etc)
Song Difficulty (1-5 scale)
Personal Enjoyment (1-5 scale)

And Tick boxes for the following:
Vocals (If the song has them)
Learn (If I want to learn the song off the app)
Piano (If I want to learn the song on Piano)

With the spreadsheet I can easily filter all the songs that include any of the variables above. So, for practice sessions, if I want to be efficient, I can choose songs that contain multiple things I am working on, or if I just want to jam I can exclude those things.

I originally made the sheet out of frustration going through level 2, due to not being able to easily find songs with dominant 7th chords on the app. So initially I just had the artist, song, and which chords they included, but then it quickly expanded from there…

Yes, I read it here:

Allright, I see, thanks! That’s quite a lot of manual effort. I was asking because I hoped to find a way to automate the task of storing information about my favorites. I guess I will then continue to make screenshots on my mobile

Yeah, that seems a lot quicker than my way LOL
