Wrapping up Grade 1 and thought I would record myself playing a few of the songs before moving on to Grade 2.

I love that song. It was one of my first song to play beginning to end also. Well done. Good job with keeping that strumming hand moving constantly amd consistantly. Thats super important and you did a good job. Well done, thanks for sharing that good upload with us.

A solid grade 1 level performance. Well done. And an impressive recording setup, capturing the app and yourself in the video.
A couple of tips.
I’d encourage you to play through songs without the app - looks like you’re more than ready for it. Practice your timekeeping with your foot.
Also, time to add some flair. A really simple one for this song is the “pause” at the end of the verses, with a couple of taps or muted hits before entering the next verse. Listen to the PJ recording to get the drift of what I mean. Just breaks the song up a bit and adds interest.

Very well done Trevor and some good advice above from @jkahn . Eddie vedder does a great “campfire version” of this song which is worth a listen, and maybe aim to incorporate some of the string muting etc which will really bring this song to the next level for you. Great job

Bravo on the progress made, Trevor. Your playing sounded good, steady rhythm, clean chords, and well recorded tone.
A minor point on the video, for my money I’d rather the app be added as the inset, somewhere not obscuring you and your guitar, which would be the main feature.
