Thanks Mark.
Thank you Rogier.
Hey Mal, that was great.
Another originals fan here, but thatâs outta my league
Chords, rhythm, dynamics and vocals all worked for me. It might have purely been suggestion by the title but I was already hearing a middle Eastern influence in the intro
At the risk of uninvitedly stepping on toes, I was wondering what it might sound like, replacing that decision will be made on the way with something like âIâll let the (sun/ clouds/camel) decideâ
You know you have an interesting song when the listener wants to know more about it.
Is it autobiographical?
Makes me want to live in a cave, drinking well water and smoking weed
Hi Brian, pleased you enjoyed the song. Yes it is biographical; my good lady and I travelled to Essaouira, many years ago, 1977 in fact, long before it was commercialized. I like your suggestion on Camel deciding, although it could also be a goat. The weed was also good
That was a cracker Mal. Love listening to originals as it is something I would love to get into as I progress. I posted my first original last week but you raised the bar with that one! Take a bow !
How cool is that?
Goat is inspirational, adding a surreal quality and sending the listener on an impossible quest
Whenever I hear of Morocco/Marrakesh in music, I automatically think of The Ride to Agadir, a fab Mike Batt song that I used to listen to as a teenager. Do you know it?
I âborrowedâ it as the soundtrack for one of the clips in my growing up on 8mm thread.
I know- Afghanistan is on a different continent, thousands of miles away, but the Islamic imagery seemed to fit well
Hope you donât mind the hijack)
hi Mal,
really great song!
I liked the interesting non-standard chord sequence. It was beautiful!
guitar playing and vocals are also on top.

Bravo, Mal, an original with a great vibe and energy. Enjoyed the variation of chords that added some different textures to it. well done and thanks for sharing.
That was a very enjoyable listening, thank you for sharing. I loved the choice of chords and the energetic rhythm. English is not my mothertongue and itâs a pity I couldnât fully understanding the lyrics.
Great idea to use triads here Mal, and what a great song you did bravo!
Eddie, thank you for your kind words. Pleased you enjoyed the song.
Hi Brian, do not know this song, loved the video though, it reminds me of the first time we were there. As you say, different geography, but the cultures have much in common. Not yet made it to Afghanistan, and as it is now, maybe not. I do enjoy reading an Afghan writer Idries Shah though, now passed, he was an erudite intelligent writer, should you ever come across him, he is worth a look. No problem with the hijack.
Forgot to mention, goats in trees.
Hi Leonid, thank you, pleased you enjoyed the song.
Thanks David, yes the open E shape triad provide a drone which I enjoy and suits the vibe of the song. Pleased you enjoyed it.
Hi Silvia, pleased you enjoyed the song and the rhythm, as the song concerns travel I was going for a soft driving beat.
Hi Adrian, yes I love the sound of the triads in these positions, pleased you enjoyed the song.
Hi Lieven, thank you for the kind words. I do not think I am able to write like Mr Mclean yet though. Pleased you enjoyed the song.
Well at least youâve got a good feeling for âvibeâ and youâre putting out songs (making you more productive than I am in that department!)
I am putting my output and desire to share down to this wonderful sharing, supportive community. I thank you.
