Long Monday - John Prine

After a long break without a post my goal for 2025 is to become more active again here in the community. I missed it a lot!

Setting myself the target to post something in January did not work out - but almost
A while ago a heard John Prines “Long Monday” for the first time and really fell in love with this tune. I gave it a try - to enhance my travis picking, timing and sing along skills.

Still a little shaky but here it is:

Looking forward to this year, coming open mics and the club sessions!

Absolutely fantastic Andy. Beautiful tone vocally and the picking was on point. Very clear ringing of each note. This is radio quality. Had I heard it on the radio, it would have been searching for you afterwards . You kept a beautiful pace throughout and captured the mode of the song. Thank you.

Thanks @MollyT for the appreciation - I have to straitened this up still  (I saw your comment on practicing a song in the different stages - this is what I will follow here). John Prine has some really nice songs worth a try - really love those (though his early stuff is a little high)

very cool mate.
I don’t play finger style stuff so nothing to offer you but my love.

The early recordings are also all taken with a capo near the bridge - just move it down a few frets!
