Louis K - "Let Them In"

“Let Them In” by John Gorka. Lyrics written in 1942 by Elma Dean - a poem lamenting fallen soldiers. Set to music in 2001 by John Gorka. My tribute to the fallen as the US honors Memorial Day. No politics, just a prayer…

Well played, particularly as you got a little further into the song. Your vocal was good too: you believed in what you were singing; you reminded me of Rod McKuen. Well done!

Brian,

Thank you! I’ve a couple more days to smooth it out before playing at an open mic.

The song IS very personal - I served for 21 years and have friends - brothers - who didn’t come home; all of us came home changed. This is for them.

Louis

PS _ i’ve NEVER been compared to Rod McKuen!

Nicely said and nicely done. Nice guitar sound and yes, I’d agree well sung as it went on. definitely something to be happy about.

You’ll love the OM if you haven’t done one it’s a fun experience. :+1:
