Have you ever seen the rain is a fun one. I can play it along to the original recording now. It sometimes takes me 2 or 3 attempts to hit the beat at the start but once I’ve got that then all is good. I spent a long time learning the chorus. There’s rhythms to swap in and out of, a cool walk down and some F chord fun! I practiced the chorus over and over but can play a version that I’m happy with now

on the app Have you ever ever seen the rain is : Am F C G with the old faithfull pattern at 116 bpm

Its one of my favourite song by CCR so when I saw it on the app , I just played it

I think it’s one of those songs that can be played a number of different ways and they’re all fun. I’ve pieced together bits from a few different YouTube videos to get the version that I play. I’ve learned how to do the muted hit on the strings for the verse on this so I’m playing DUXUDUXUDUXUDUX etc where the X is a down strum onto muted strings (Justin has a lesson on this technique).
There’s a stack of CCR songs that I plan to learn!

This song has that lovely nostalgic summer vibe to it. I’m yearning for a time in my youth before I existed, a lazy hazy Japanese summer before the internet existed for the layperson. This is the kind of music that used to be made into great AMVs for 80s-90s animes that I liked.

probably , Spiz is a famous band in Japan and I love their soft rock
They have that specific japanese rock sound that you find nowhere else , its hard to describe
as you say it feels nostalgic , maybe a little sad but in the same time its peaceful

too bad that its not the whole song on YS but just a litte part

Well done for keeping it going in the heat. It’s fairly warm here today (would be considered in some parts of the world) and I’m forcing myself to at least do a few minutes even though I just want to go and lie in a cold bath!

Oh how wonderful it would be !
I really thought i wouldnt play today … its 29° / 30°
and tomorrow is the same
next week should be better
How hot was it il UK today ?

It’s about 28 here today which as I say would be mild in some parts of the world. My house isn’t well suited to it being warm so it just feels unpleasant. Today looks to be the peak temperature as you say, cooler tomorrow and cooler again from Sunday so I’ll need a new excuse for skipping practice :joy:
I am joking about skipping practice. Maybe I picked the wrong thing to practice today. I’ve been picking individual notes in chords today in time to a song, which requires more concentration that I have right now. Probably should have just strummed some fun songs

mine too … in the evening its cooler outside than inside
its like an oven
I know how the turkey feels when christmas is coming

having fun is always the key

I completely understand what you guys @MacOneill and @mattswain mean…

… and I guess you would love living in Finland in summer even more. The houses here are made to withstand very high minus degrees in winter… Triple glass windows and what not…

… so in many houses and flats without air conditioning systems it’s always warmer inside in summer than outside… e.g. it’s only 19 C outside today but 26 C inside :sunny:

its not an oven its a microwave :fearful:

its the morning and its 29° inside my bedroom :sob:

Yesterday I wore a singlet, a skivvy, a scarf, two jumpers, long socks, sat wrapped in a heated blanket and rested my hands on a hot wheat bag when I could, and despite exercising in the morning I was too cold to play guitar.

(I’m not practicing today either as my exercise was shoulder and upper arm focussed and now my tiny little muscles are made of bruise, lol.)

But I know the life-leeching effect of heat, and I salute you for playing regardless!
