I only did that today and it took me 134 minutes
Worst is : Im not satisfied at all , I played poorly today
Well done for doing all that regardless of how well / badly you think it went. Some days are just like that but you’ll be a better player for showing up and doing it anyway. Tomorrow will (probably) be better (there’s no money back guarantee with this statement, sorry )
We all have bad days, but you can still get lots out of a bad day if you can identify, precisely, what it was about your playing that you didn’t like and use that as a focus for your next practice session. Oh, and write it down somewhere, you will forget half of what you felt if you don’t!
Cut yourself some slack, have a beer, relax, and come back tomorrow with a plan. Remember, you were still a better player today than you were a month, or certainly a year, ago.
thank you all for your nice replies
Oh I know what happened … Its entirely my own fault for not following my own advices
If I go out in the afternoon I should not play in the evening ! thats a fact !
I knew it and I still tried to play …
i was tired and got headaches , my mind was not clear and I was grumpy
Second mistake that I usually never do … never try to hard on a song … just play it once or twice at best … never more
I did not do that yesterday … Tried too hard , got frustrated , grumpier
the more I tried , the more time I spent , the more my hand got tired so I played poorly in the end
Today Im still not feeling well with headaches , and my hand is still tired so no guitar
Ill bake some Bakewell tarts instead

Im from Lyon , and on the 8th december we always put candles on our windows
Its a very old ( christian ) tradition
My grandmother would never forget to put the candles every year so , I do the same now to remember her
Since it was raining last night i put mine inside , in front of the window
you can read more about it on wikipedia : Festival of Lights (Lyon) - Wikipedia
honestly , the big festival in town nowadays killed the tradition … less and less people put candles
You have to post a video / music link when you perfect Careless Whisper, that saxophone solo is too good to just mention. It will probably sound very cool on electric guitar. (Bonus points if you learn the saxophone for it.) Would also love to hear your fingerstyle Hallelujah when you feel like it’s ready to share.
It’s lovely that you keep the tradition going for love of your grandmother. It sounds like it would be really atmospheric to walk around the neighbourhood at night and see candles flickering on all the windowsills. Most of the religious christmas stuff focusses on Jesus, understandably, but Mary went through a lot!
I’m not big on christmas but I love the family traditions people have to keep things special and feel connected. I’m waiting to stumble upon something that I want to make a tradition. So far we just pull out a wiggly santa and put him somewhere in the house. (Little metal guy with a spring, jiggles when you nudge him.) I begrudgingly accepted this a few years ago and now I kind of don’t mind it.
From this very cosy picture I have deduced that you have a cat, and that you’re a lumberjack! (I will say I’m less sure about the lumberjack deduction; but to me it looks like you have a split log on the chest of drawers there. Or potentially an interestingly shaped rustic loaf of bread.)
ok i will
Its an easy strumming pattern to practice
Id like to work on playing soft or strong with this song (if its possible ) , will ask my teacher on wednesday about it
Id like to learn to bring more musicality from strumming
you want me to learn a new instrument ??? I pass on the bonus points
Sure , but it will take me weeks of practice first
WHY ??? this is the best time of the year ! I love it
listening to christmas songs , decorations everywhere ,the advent calendar ( mine is filled with scented candles ) , baking and most of all eating !!!
Its not christmas without a ton of chocolates , mince pies , bakewells tarts and shortbreads ( and a buche de noel )
Maybe its not seen like we do on the southern part of the world
I have 2 cats , Maxwell George and Ollie
Max is the orange one , he’s a little under the weather lately , had to put him under medication to calm his nerves
ah ah thats a split log
It was the stand of last year’s christmas tree
I put some iron candle holders in it and ta daaa , a brand new and natural christmas decoration !
Since I had candles on the window I didn t light this one when I took the picture
I d be really hungry to have such a large loaf in my room
Now that’s a solution you don’t see very often on these pages !
Its a yummy solution !
All the tarts are already gone

Aww, what cute kitties
My cat Oscar died ten years ago and I haven’t had a pet since then, but every now and then I would pull out the guitar and randomly pluck strings, and he would magically appear within seconds and rub all over it and purr. I have a feeling it would be difficult to learn guitar he were still around, I’m sure he would’ve made a big scene if I locked him out of the room! Hope Max feels better soon.
Christmas down here is very hot, although strangely my local K-Mart is selling themed jumpers and giant, fluffy snuggy-style ones, too. I’m not a huge fan of a lot of different parts of it. I’m anti-capitalist and not religious at all, and I don’t like how hectic it gets. But I’m a bit of a humbug I guess.
ooooh … i couldnt … I need cats in my life
thanks , he looks calmer
now The fur on his belly needs to grow back
he licked himself bald on his belly from stress
maybe he doesnt like the sound of the guitar in his ears …
me too !
For me christmas is all about being cozy and all about eating ! nothing else
No need for big money spending and I avoid plastic stuff … decorations are made of wood and branches come from the forest
well in fact from my physiotherapist garden … he trimmed his trees and gave me some branches
Buying guitar gear was a torture for me , spending so much money , I felt guilty
