I am also a “completist” and I need to feel like I feel the complete Thirds pattern for every scale pattern.
Why there is a double tap on the last note of the second pattern?
@HutDave A good question Davide.
Both patterns play the highest pitch note in the pattern two times.
Pattern 1
1st appearance - bar 4 the last note of the bar, played as a half note to bring one phase to a pause.
2nd appearance - bar 5 the first note of the bar played as an 8th to resume the sequence and move it to a descending phase.
Pattern 2
1st appearance - bar 11, the second note of the bar, played as an 8th which brings the ascending phase to an end.
2nd appearance - bar 11, the third note, played as an 8th which means there is no pause but this still signals the sequence now moving into a descending phase.
Notice that the lowest pitch note in this pattern also has a repeat at the end of bar 10 then at the start of bar 11.
These repeats only happen at the extremities of the patterns if they are needed or helpful to reset the pattern of 3rds in ascending or descending pairs of notes.
Does that help?
