March 2026 recordings: "Let Alone The One You Love" and "Bluebird"

I love Olivia Dean’s music and have covered several of her songs. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but “Let Alone The One You Love” sounds like a 6 bar blues progression to me? Whatever it is, its just a really good song!

Hi Sonyal, well done again, I love hearing you sing, but sometimes the guitar sounds you out, maybe just one day we could do a mix cheers HEC

Well played and well sung. There are occasional problems with the timing, particularly when you move up the fret board, away from the open chord(s) position. It might be worth practicing those changes at a slower speed to eliminate the errors.

What a beautiful voice you have. I really enjoyed that. I agree with @DeltaTyne that it would be worth spending time getting the level of the vocals and guitar right otherwise your vocals are sometimes drowned out by the guitar, which is a great shame given your voice.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the feeback about the guitar playing. The strumming up the neck is supposed to be on the offbeat. If you’ve not heard this song I would highly recommend checking it out. You too might become an Olivia Dean fan

Hi Sonyal,
Nice effort! I have heard the original & think this could be a real “grower” for your guitar playing. As for vocals… you’re spot on & sound really good!
Thanks for the pleasant listen!!!
