I really loved the masterclass with Ariel Posen - such a great player. It gave me inspiration to keep trying with slide guitar.
One of the comments Justin made was that he didn’t think anyone put the slide on their pointer finger. There’s a fantastic Australian guy called Dave Hole who DOES have his slide on his pointer finger and he plays over the top of the fretboard, due to an AFL football injury. I was lucky enough to see him live a couple of weeks ago, and he’s really great live. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of videos of him around but here’s one in which you can see his technique.

The masterclass was really interesting and inspiring. I haven’t started on slide guitar, not there yet, but still learned a lot and got some tips for when I do start.
Index finger plus hand approaching the neck from above means fingers available to mute behind the slide. Ingenious workaround.
