Just to make a start.

I enjoyed the Before Your Begin eBook and sometimes I recap it when I struggle with basics. My favorite and most helpful tip was for me HOW TO PROPERLY HOLD A
GUITAR PICK cause I had problems with it and my wish is to learn to play with a pick.

Here my PR for A ā†” D fast One-Minute-Change, my advice is to place your smartphone as close as possible to the sound hole of the guitar and then donā€™t look at the screen but concentrate on the chord changes

As a 2-Chord Record Iā€™ve choosen the Lucky Man by ELP, the verse is two chords, I play C and G, and later on when learned Dm and Am I playd the chorus with Dm Am G. So this song is a good developer for Module 1.

My biggest challenge in Module 1 was Dm Chord, so Lucky Man Chorus with Dm Am G is a good song choice to practice this.

I am already looking forward to seeing more challenge participants and wish you all lots of fun!

I mean old guitars players will definitely be better than a beginner who just started 6 monhs ago

Fanny is coordinating the class of 2025 and it is really designed for people new to JustinGuitar who are finding their way around the website, the courses and the community. Fanny hosts monthly ā€˜onboardingā€™ sessions to help new students understand the overall layout of JustinGuitar and to offer guidance on learning paths etc.
This area - and this challenge - is for those people in the main.
More experienced JG folk are always welcome to say hello, offer their own advice or support if relevant of course.

Witkatz joined on Nov 24 , is he considered a class 25 ?
I mean if someone is still on grade 1 but joined in 24 ( after september I guess )
Can he join ? or is it really for people who joined after january ?

thats just to make this point clear , that was not for me :smiley:

@grumpymac ā€“ Good question! This challenge was mainly created for students who joined in 2025 and are still in the beginner grades, to help build motivation and momentum.

That said, if someone joined earlier, or even a while ago but is still working through the early grades, theyā€™re absolutely welcome to join too. If the challenge feels helpful, jump in! :blush:

Perhaps the task of recording and showing yourself in public is a little too hard for absolute beginners. That was the challenge for me and I would like to encourage all my classmates to do the same. Everyone plays as they can and deserves praise and respect for it and gets their applause here. I think this is a wonderful and important experience for any musician-to-be

Ah, yes, but: Beginners! Be aware we are a supportive community and all of us remember that we were beginners once ourselves!
Ok, now itā€™s time for me to drop out of here and stop inhibiting a nice 2025 starters atmostphereā€¦ :slight_smile:

Hello Guys, as a beginner here is my nomination for the mini challenge:

  1. Favourite Tip: Make sure your fretting hand isnā€™t holding up the guitar.

  3. Biggest challenge : Learning 5 songs by heart, especially because I cant sing
