In the practice for lesson 8, he plays brown eyed girl, every rose has it’s thorns, and patience. He plays along with the app on these as NitsuJ. These songs are not in the app at all and I’ve searched by artist and song.I enjoy playing along with the app and wonder why the songs are not there.
Hi @ChristaDean, the songs in the song app are regularly updated, some songs are added, but some are removed. This generally has to do with licensing issues.
Sadly, due to music publishing, licensing, copyright, legal technicalities …
some songs have had to be removed from the App.
Hundreds more have been added.
Some of those removed were those chosen by Justin to film these play-along recordings.
Their worth remains even if you cannot use those exact same songs yourself.
Justin demonstrates several levels that a basic song can be played with as your skills develop. It is a universal not a song-specific idea.
Mostly licensing issues, as Richard says above. This has tripped up a lot of beginners here…it’s sad.
Note that you can get a similar experience to the App with the Moises app, as long as you have bought the song legally. It’s not as beginner friendly as Justin’s app, but it’s close, and also has some more advanced features.
They seem to push the track separation features, but the tempo reduction, looping , and transposing features are extremely useful for song practice.
Heart Dies
I would have loved to have had Every Rose and Patience on the app…
