Mooer pedal

Hi HEC here, just had to buy this pedal, and wow, for the money it is a playing changer, what an awesome pedal man, cheers Hec.

Congrats on your purchase, Hec. I’ve just run through the specs of this little unit, and - man! - I must say I’m impressed. Reasonably priced, it offers fantastic possibilities; I think I could find a good use for it myself, but first I must catch a breath after my recent Les Paul purchase
Have fun!

I am part of a DIY electronics pedal community. I see this pedal on a lot of peoples boards. Great choice.

What does that pedal do Hec? Sorry I’m really ignorant about pedals. Although I’m about to post today about my very first pedal!!

Best, Ian

Thanks for asking. I don’t have a single pedal and also wondered what this one does. It seemed like everyone knew and I felt stupid.

The pedal is a looper that also does drum sounds. I have the same pedal

Matt,

What are the drum sounds like on that thing? I have a zoom multi effects thingy and I mostly only used the drum beats (as I prefer that to the dreaded metronome), the looper and the tuner. I don’t use the effects much at all and I don’t like using it as it strongly affects the sound of my amp even on bypass. So I was looking for something more suitable.

Best, Ian

I can only really point you to the andertons video and say have a listen https://youtu.be/I_MWX8TZ-cA

Since I got mine I’ve been using it with a heavily distorted fuzz pedal so I’m not sure I can answer your question other than to say I think they’re pretty good and I have no issues with it. This might not be your experience though.

At present mine is just into the front of my Fender Mustang GTX amp set to a clean Fender sound although I should get around to using the FX loop (that will mess up my tidy cables :joy:)

Thanks Matt. I’ll watch the video. Cheers

I have just recently started. I have always been interested in electronics. So I started my pedal building with how effect pedals we developed following the history. So basical LPB-1 circuits how they work. Biasing, change types of distortion sounds, adding fuzz. Stacking the LPB 1 circuits after adding certain types of mods to give boosting effects. Then I moved on to electro Harmonics circuit moding them and doing stuff. A lot of what i have been understanding and learning is how a lot of the current pedals are just these circuits that have modifications. The thing is there is so much, its really its own thing. There are others who are masters.

Its fun what I have been learning so far. I am makeing a cool proto typing board now with a break out box to make it a bit easy and faster. Hopefully. Its an excersize in patients. There are a number of others here who are into it too, also amp building. Thats super rad.

Edit
I have not moved beyond distortion yet either.

@mattswain I watched the Andertons video and it looks like the drums & looper combination could be useful for me. Might give it a try.

Looks like a nice piece of kit.
Caveat- Small touch screen on the floor. The Captain says at the start: “I’m gonna have to get down on the floor for this…”
If you’re thinking of buying a looper/beats pedal, I’d think about spending an extra £40-50 for a Trio+. They add a whole extra dimension of possibilities, by allowing you to sequence different song parts in the same song.

It seems that you can load backing tracks onto this looper too. An added bonus!
Sorry, shortest video I could find. . .
