Add flavor to C, Am and Em Chords!
Tired of playing the same old chord progressions? Let’s fix that. In this session, Lieven will show you how to breathe new life into the most common chords—like C, Am, and Em—by adding simple but powerful embellishments. These tricks instantly make your playing more melodic, expressive, and fun.

I’m going to take some accessible songs that use these chords and show you how you can make them more interesting. Bring a guitar and try it yourself!

The session will resemble session #15 a bit. While hat session was “getting to know all kinds of flavours of open chords”, this session will take a few of those flavours to learn, practice and use in real songs.
Of course, the principle and method of practice is unvirsal; for stumming, for fingerpicking and for all the flavours you can imagine.

Hey Lieven, I was unable to attend the live presentation yesterday, but found it today online. Excellent presentation on spicing up the C, Am, and Em chords. It will certainly add a lot of ‘flavor’ as you say to my playing. Can’t wait to try these out on some songs. Thanks for that!

Let me know which your favourites are and which ones you like/use most.
btw, make sure you check the documents from session #15 as well, there are some extra shapes in there

I’ve been using the D sus 2 and D sus 4 for quite a while now and like the sound of them. I can see myself using the Am more than C variations, and C more than the Em I think, although I’ll try them all in a few tunes and see how they play. They’re great tools to have regardless of how often I use them however. Thanks again!
