Hi guys!

In the next Motivation Live Club, we’ll talk about setting up and growing your repertoire.

“Growing” could mean a lot of things:

  • the amount of songs,
  • the complexity of songs,
  • your storytelling to wrap it all in a nice bow…
  • You’ll need to make songs your own and set them to your hand to bring them the best way YOU can!

Naturally I see this announcement after the event but I was actually busy that day anyway (classical music concert / dinner with friends). I read through the slides and like the way this is laid out. As a contribution, years ago I found this post on the Guitar Tricks forum and have always considered it a good description of how to build a repertoire. I think it complements your slides pretty well.

Some day I should actually work on doing this.

Thanks for sharing, the article goes for a well overviewed and durable method.
Keeping track of the status of a song can be a valuable metric for your “song spread sheet”.

That was a very good lesson, thank you very much, Lieven. Suddenly, the lessons on categorising songs and making songs your own make much more sense to me, and I am getting a bit more structure into my songs learning and my goals.
Cheers Withold

I love to hear that! Thanks for reminding me the importance of the balance between:
“how to develop a song” and “when to develop which song”.
