Having never seen one because of the time difference, I had just assumed they would be interactive, otherwise why have “live” sessions at all? You can just post the completed video.
Many of us have a different quality experience if we believe we are watching something ‘live’ as opposed to a recording (think sporting events, the news etc.). And there is interaction in the live sessions I have attended, but that usually takes the form of someone typing a question in the chat area and the ‘teacher’ answering some of them.
There are advantages in watching the recording instead: You can pause/rewind to go over something and still ask questions in the associated thread. The current format caters for both.
