Thanks Craig, pleased you enjoyed my effort. I prefer version 2 for this song. The rhythm appeals to me in the first though.
The guitar is a hybrid solid acoustic. It has a Squire neck and mahogany body. The electrics are still as when new, but getting round to changing them.
I enjoy using it for live OMs as it is durable and should withstand the rigours of use without being precious about it.
Well Mal ,
Just listened to this version with my girl and she was also happily surprised by your singing voice when I interrupted her with her piano lessons
Iâm late to this party, as usual, but loved your second version! As someone else mentioned the first version obscured the walkdowns and the second version caught them wonderfully! You sang nicely too. Enjoyed it a lot! Did you already perform this at the OM event? If so, how did it go?
Hi Jim, thanks for the feedback. I too enjoy the 2nd take more.
As with many OMs, very little goes to plan and this song was not performed. There were around 11 performers, which made for a really good night but that meant everyone could perform only 3 songs each, whereas I had planned on 5.
No matter, it will be played at some point.
I had listened to your songs earlier, but forgot to tell you I really enjoyed them!
And I really like 3/4 and 6/8 rhythms, something waltzy doesnât bother me at all .
I think Iâll have to learn Mr. Bojangles too. Not sure if I had heard it before (probably did at some time?), but came across it twice recently and now I really like it!
Thank you Dom. Waltz does not bother me really, it was the way I was playing it initially. I am pleased with the way it turned out. It is a good song, check out the Sammy Davis version. Glad you liked them.
