Hi all, I’m really stuck on some guitar covers I’ve been working on, so I worked on this Tom Petty cover of one of my favorite songs of his, and I’m pretty satisfied with this recording. I learned this from the book Tom Petty For Ukulele. I hope you enjoy it! Now back to the guitar…
nice. sounds like Tom Petty songs fit your vocal range really well. I like playing his songs, too. I’ve worked on several of them. Most from the Wildflowers album so far.
Sweet! I gotta learn that one… maybe on uke since it’s in the book… Don’t know if I can work out that riff with the uke though, might have to try the harp again…
Thanks pkboo! I’m working hard at it here, practicing almost everyday, mostly using Justin’s program. I’m in intermediate 5 now. And of course, learning more songs. The journey is the destination!
Just found this now!
Oh man, I’ll have to do a Tom Petty cover too! I love his songs!
Your singing and playing was great!
A minor thing, but Justin always emphasizes that rhythm is king… The strumming rhythm isn’t rock stable. I’ve seen you with really steady rhythm in other songs, maybe this one is a bit more difficult with the quick chord changes?
PS. I just got the Uke out of its bag also trying to strum/chugg to Bruno Mars’ “Count on me” and found it strangely more difficult than on the guitar! Maybe one has to adjust to the Uke after being abstinent?
