My first (recorded) physical OM

Cheers Craig, indeed, Billy is such a great songwriter. Workers Playtime is probably my favourite album.

Thanks Oleg - very kind!

Cheers Joe - that one seems pretty popular. As fingerstyle songs go, it’s not too hard to learn.

 nice!
You’ve done it, twice now! Congratulations! Just keep doing it!
Well played, and great variety in your set and entertaining for the listener! you come across very calm, relaxed and confident even though you’ve already replied to others that that was not necessarily how you felt.
And I agree, playing to a live audience feels easier than online.

Well done Paul. A confident performance, you’re a seasoned pro now. :grinning_face_with_big_eyes: I especially enjoyed Kathy’s song.

How wonderful to see you stepping out and doing it in the ‘real world’ Paul.
Great song choices and fine performances.

Thanks Molly - yes, it’s a great venue and I intend to keep going. Also a good catalyst to learn new material!

 Thanks Gordon.

Cheers Colin!

Thanks Richard - certainly a different vibe IRL, I do like it though!

I loved your performance. I still have not done a live open mic yet, but have played in a public stage in Old Town San Diego and at an Irish Pub. The hardest thing is to keep playing through mistakes. Remember if you happen to miss a chord or play the same verse twice, who cares just keep going. You will love the stage presence as much as I do and crave another chance to give it a go. Best of luck. You sound amazing.

Thanks Jeff.
Actually the thing I’m most pleased about is the way I ignored my mistakes - made a load of course and they felt awful at the time, but keeping the rhythm and singing going and they are actually hardly noticeable - a good lesson for me.

A nice rendition of Kathy’s song. Nice to keep the fingerpicking going - I’ve only done my first few open mics recently and my fingers froze when I played fingerstlyle so have stuck to strumming!
Your fingers kept flowing, well done!

Cheers Richard - fingerstyle is certainly more challenging for me live, that’s why I played that song last after I’d settled in a bit

You’re well on your way to success. May I suggest to give it a try moving around the stage a bit. After my first in stage show I realized I looked like a statue standing in place, so I made it a point to move to the left and right a bit when playing the instrumental part and going back to the mic when it’s time to sing. This Thursday I’m finally back to my regular weekly gig in Old Town San Diego. It’s been a month since I had the spot. Hoping everything goes well and look forward to hearing your next performance.
