My Open D AVOYP after Vintage club #24 with Richard Coles on 5/12/25

I sat in with Richard Coles yesterday, 5/12/25, for vintage club 24, open D Tuning. Richard did an excellent job showing and discussing open D tuning for guitar, how it works, why it works, why people use it, and how we can use it. Well done, Richard. Great preparation and presentation. I’m into JG one year, middle of grade 2, and I was able to easily grasp the material. I played around with just the various fret positions to play a D scale on the 1st string. I played some strums while still using the various fret positions on string 1, and then added the various chord positions using strings 3 and 5 as you indicated in your presentation. I made a short video of me doing all that. I’ll post the You Tube link here. Maybe someone at JG with more savy in IT can post the actual video here. I really appreciate the effort everyone puts into these vintage club sessions. Great job yesterday, Richard. Thank you! Here’s the link for the video on You Tube. I didn’t play any songs, just ran through the exercises in the video, taken today, one day after the session with Richard:

Thanks DeltaTyne. I appreciate it. That’s 2 yeah votes for Richard’s session, and I’m sure there are many more. I also played around a bit with bar chords in D tuning after I video’d that one.
